Job Description

Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the month-end close process. This role oversees the accounting team, ensures accurate financial reporting, and strengthens internal controls while improving workflows and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, supervisory experience, and a hands-on approach to developing people and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, approvals, vendor payments, expense recording, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including billing, cash application, collections, aging reviews, and credit and collection policies.

  • Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and accurate financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

  • Supervise and develop AP and AR team members through work assignments, quality reviews, coaching, training, and performance feedback.

  • Strengthen internal controls, improve accounting workflows, and partner with sales and operations to resolve billing and payment issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes.

  • ERP system experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent professional certification.

  • Experience in a midsize to large organization.

  • Background in accounting process improvement or system implementations.
