Description:

Habemco is a shared services company wholly owned and operated by the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake, a federally recognized Native American tribe located in Northern California. Habemco’s support services such as product development and technology which are needed for business growth, ultimately power the Tribe’s economy, and enable the delivery of education, health care, and elder support programs for the Tribal community. Our talented team provides cross-functional support services to various tribal business and government entities. The Habemco team plays a critical role in ensuring a successful future for our customers, our employees, and the Tribe.

Headquartered in a beautiful, yet remote part of California, the Tribe recognizes that to compete in highly competitive industries such as FinTech, the Tribe must access expertise throughout the nation. In addition to employees that work remotely, the Tribe has employees located at its headquarters in Upper Lake, California and at a campus in Lenexa, Kansas.

Employees receive competitive pay and benefits, quarterly performance bonuses and 401(k) with a 4% match. Our team is creative, forward-thinking, passionate and moves fast! Are you ready to grow with us?

Purpose of the Position

The Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration and support of Habemco’s primary employee-facing technology platforms.

The role is focused on Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira/Confluence, identity and access management, and other enterprise SaaS applications used across the company. This position provides advanced technical support, manages system configuration and access, supports employee lifecycle processes, and helps ensure these platforms remain reliable, secure, and well maintained.

This is a senior individual-contributor position within Technology Operations and serves as an escalation point for issues that require deeper platform knowledge than the help desk typically provides.

The position is not expected to be an expert in every application used by Habemco on the first day. Strong experience with enterprise systems administration and the ability to learn additional platforms are important parts of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Confluence, identity and access management systems, and other assigned enterprise applications.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, groups, roles, licenses, application access, and system configuration.
  • Support employee onboarding, transferring, and offboarding in coordination with Human Resources and IT Services.
  • Administer Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and related configuration, along with Confluence spaces and access.
  • Administer Slack user access, workspace settings, permissions, integrations, retention settings, and other operational configurations.
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, licensing, permissions, groups, and tenant-level troubleshooting.
  • Support identity and access management, including single sign-on, multifactor authentication, user provisioning, group management, and application access.
  • Troubleshoot complex system, access, configuration, integration, and application issues that require escalation beyond the help desk.
  • Work with software vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and implement platform changes.
  • Maintain system documentation, operating procedures, configuration information, and support knowledge.
  • Participate in access reviews and provide system information or evidence needed for security, compliance, and audit activities.
  • Implement approved system changes, upgrades, integrations, and new functionality.
  • Identify recurring issues and manual processes that can be simplified, automated, or improved.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to IT Services and other support personnel.
  • Assist with the implementation and administration of additional enterprise applications as business needs change.
  • Participate in planned after-hours maintenance or incident support when necessary for critical systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with major in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another technical field of study, or four years of relevant technical experience in lieu of a degree. Plus:
  • Seven years of progressive information technology experience, including at least four years administering enterprise applications or software-as-a-service platforms in a production business environment.
  • Hands-on administrative experience with Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on administrative experience with Slack.
  • Hands-on administrative experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with enterprise identity and access management, such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or a comparable platform.
  • Experience managing user access, permissions, groups, roles, and application provisioning.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience working with formal change-management and IT support processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical employees.
  • Candidates are not expected to have the same level of expertise across every platform. Strong enterprise administration fundamentals and the ability to become proficient with additional systems are required.
  • Applicants for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Habemco (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (STEM/OPT), TN visa.)
  • All offers are contingent upon successfully passing a third-party drug screen and background check, which may include, but is not limited to, previous employment, education, criminal, and credit checks. The Company retains the right to administer similar ongoing drug and background checks throughout the course of employment. While THC from marijuana has been legalized under some state laws for medicinal or recreational uses, it remains an illegal drug under federal law. The Company, as a wholly owned entity of a federally recognized Indian tribe, observes the federal definition of illegal drugs, and therefore, THC use is considered an illegal drug by the Company.
