Job Description

PHP/MySQL Developer - Hybrid

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite per Week)
Job Type: Contract (12+ Months)
Interview Process: Virtual Round 1, In-Person Round 2

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PHP/MySQL Developer (Analyst) to provide operational, technical, and application support for a critical cloud-hosted enterprise platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PHP development, MySQL database management, RESTful APIs, AWS infrastructure, and Linux web server administration. This role requires collaborating with technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to maintain a secure, reliable, and highly available application environment.

Required Skills
  • Strong experience with PHP development
  • Expertise in MySQL database administration and SQL queries
  • Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2
  • Experience managing Apache and NGINX web servers
  • Linux server administration and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or Single Sign-On integrations
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily operational and technical support for a cloud-hosted application platform.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PHP-based applications and microservices.
  • Manage and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and data validation processes.
  • Build and support REST API integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Install, configure, and support application modules in Linux/AWS environments.
  • Perform software updates, patches, upgrades, and system maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and business teams to ensure application availability and performance.
  • Manage AWS resources, including EC2 instances, networking, storage, security groups, backups, and monitoring.
  • Implement and maintain authentication, authorization, and SSL/TLS security configurations.
  • Develop automation scripts for data processing, reporting, validation, and system administration.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively resolve issues.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup validation, and system recovery activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations.
  • Participate in production support, change management, release management, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting healthcare, government, or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data security standards.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Agile methodologies, and ticket management processes.
  • Experience working with cloud-based enterprise applications and integrations.
Additional Requirements
  • Local candidates preferred.
  • Must be able to attend onsite interviews if requested.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are required.
