Job Description

Invoicing Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Invoicing Specialist based in United States.

This role manages the end-to-end invoicing process for completed field service work within the residential solar and energy services sector.
You will ensure partner invoices are accurate, compliant with agreed pricing, and processed efficiently.
The position combines invoice management, operational auditing, troubleshooting, and close collaboration with external service providers.
You will investigate work order histories, validate scopes of work, identify discrepancies, and determine the appropriate party responsible for costs.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and confidence working with vendors and internal accounting teams.
You will operate in a fast-paced, technology-enabled environment where processes are continually evolving and improvements are encouraged.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization helping advance reliable and sustainable energy solutions.

Accountabilities
  • Manage the end-to-end processing of invoices for completed field service work, ensuring submissions align with contractual pricing, rates, pricing tiers, and designated billing parties.

  • Communicate proactively with Field Service Providers to obtain missing documentation and deliverables, including equipment serial numbers, RMA documentation, and complete site reports.

  • Audit client-initiated invoicing concerns and assess whether scopes of work accurately reflect services performed.

  • Investigate case and work order histories to identify discrepancies, determine root causes, and establish whether costs should be billed externally or absorbed internally.

  • Review completed work and enter applicable service pricing accurately for invoice processing.

  • Evaluate retroactive non-covered service requests and client responses to determine appropriate next steps and submit approved requests for final invoicing.

  • Collaborate closely with partner management, field service providers, and accounting teams to resolve invoice exceptions and outstanding issues.

  • Track open work orders and help ensure completed service requests are fully closed within established 30-day timelines.

  • Apply knowledge of residential solar equipment, service scopes, and troubleshooting practices when reviewing invoices and operational documentation.

  • Identify recurring invoicing or process issues and contribute to improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and operational consistency.

  • Maintain professional, firm, and effective communication with third-party partners while resolving documentation and payment-related issues.

Requirements
  • Proven professional experience in the residential solar industry, with strong knowledge of solar equipment, service scopes, troubleshooting, and field service processes.

  • Hands-on experience working with SolarEdge and Enphase platforms.

  • Experience using Salesforce to review case and work order histories.

  • Demonstrated experience managing field service providers, vendors, contractors, or similar external partners.

  • Experience processing complex invoices and validating charges against contracts, pricing agreements, or completed work.

  • Strong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to cross-reference documentation, identify discrepancies, validate work performed, and determine financial responsibility.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial and operational information.

  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills, particularly when working with external partners to resolve missing information or disputed items.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and take ownership of outcomes in a fast-moving environment.

  • Experience in a high-volume operations or field service environment is preferred.

  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable business and financial systems is a plus.

  • Experience in solar, clean energy, or related service industries is advantageous.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving processes and contribute constructively to operational improvements.

Benefits
  • $32–$38 per hour starting base pay, with opportunities for annual merit increases and progression within the pay band.

  • Compensation placement based on professional experience rather than negotiation ability, supporting a commitment to pay equity.

  • Remote work opportunities for most roles.

  • Access to a collaborative office environment for employees located in the Seattle area.

  • Local employee gatherings and opportunities for in-person connection.

  • Supportive, mission-driven culture centered on collaboration, mutual respect, trust, and inclusion.

  • Employee affinity groups and community initiatives designed to foster belonging and support diverse perspectives.

  • Mentorship and investment in employee development and career growth.

  • Opportunities to expand responsibilities and develop new skills within a rapidly growing organization.

  • Opportunity to contribute to the transition toward more sustainable energy through technology-enabled solar and energy services.
