About the Facility

Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Greenville County, South Carolina.

This 1-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art production plant, located on more than 200 acres, will feature a flexible manufacturing line capable of producing both internal combustion and electric vehicles.

Position Summary

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering employee benefit programs while supporting accurate and timely payroll processing. This role serves as a primary resource for employees regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage, payroll deductions, and related questions.

The position works closely with employees, Human Resources, payroll partners, benefit carriers, brokers, and other external partners to resolve issues, maintain accurate records, support open enrollment, and ensure benefit and payroll-related transactions are completed accurately and timely.

Responsibilities
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and other company-sponsored plans
  • Serve as a primary resource for employees regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage, qualifying life events, deductions, and related processes
  • Manage benefit enrollment activities for new hires, employee changes, qualifying life events, and separations
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment, including employee communications, system preparation, enrollment support, and post-enrollment validation
  • Research and resolve benefit, coverage, claims, eligibility, and deduction issues with employees, carriers, brokers, payroll, and other partners
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing employee changes, benefit deductions, payroll-related data, and discrepancies affecting employee pay
  • Maintain accurate payroll and benefit records within applicable HRIS and benefit administration systems
  • Assist with benefit invoice, carrier data, enrollment, and payroll deduction reconciliations
  • Support leave-related benefit coordination, required notices, audits, reporting, and benefit compliance activities
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable benefit laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA
  • Support benefit plan renewals, carrier changes, employee communications, and process improvement activities
  • Protect confidential employee, payroll, and benefit information
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company and department goals
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of professional Human Resources experience with significant responsibility for employee benefits administration
  • Experience administering health and welfare benefit programs required
  • Experience supporting payroll processes and benefit deductions
  • Experience coordinating annual open enrollment and employee benefit communications required
  • Experience working with benefit carriers, brokers, third-party administrators, and HRIS or benefits administration systems required
  • Benefits or HR-related professional certification such as CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, or PHR/SPHR preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration, eligibility, enrollment, and health and welfare programs
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes and the relationship between employee changes, benefit elections, deductions, and pay
  • Knowledge of applicable benefit laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA
  • Ability to research and resolve benefit, payroll deduction, and employee data discrepancies
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain benefit and payroll information clearly
  • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to handle sensitive employee matters professionally and confidentially
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, HR, payroll, carriers, brokers, and other internal and external partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate independent judgment
