Description:

Commercial Billing Follow-Up Specialist

Morgan Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Commercial Billing Follow-Up Specialist to join our healthcare finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely collection of payments and resolving billing discrepancies to support the financial health of our organization. If you are organized, customer-focused, and have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

- Follow up on unpaid or delayed insurance claims and patient accounts to ensure timely resolution

- Review and analyze billing discrepancies and work with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams to resolve issues

- Maintain accurate records of all follow-up activities and communications

- Collaborate with billing and coding departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance

- Monitor aging reports and prioritize accounts requiring immediate attention

- Assist in reducing accounts receivable and improving cash flow

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing and payments

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in hospital billing, medical billing, or healthcare accounts receivable

- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance processes, and coding systems

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities

- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing or coding is a plus
