Infection Preventionist in Somers Point, New Jersey at Shore Medical Center

Position Summary
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Program. The Infection Preventionist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to prevent and reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), conducts surveillance and NHSN reporting, analyzes infection data, leads outbreak investigations, provides staff education, and promotes evidence-based infection prevention practices. The role ensures compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory and accreditation requirements while supporting quality improvement, patient safety, emergency preparedness, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.

Qualifications
• Valid New Jersey State RN License and/or Microbiology Technician
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred upon hire and required within three (3) years
• 5+ years of experience in Infection Control preferred
• Computer proficiency
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Salary Range - $36.28 - $46.50 hourly (Based on experience)
