Job Description
The Machine Operator/Packer will be responsible for the operation of the 2 Ellipta machines, while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment for maximum efficiency and production quality. Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
Ellipta Operator Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 months experience as a Machine Operator/Packer executing all of the below duties/responsibilities timely and efficiently unless skills supersede experience.
- Following machine priorities.
- Able to multi-task throughout the shift to best maintain production goals
- Be able to follow SWI/SOPs
- Assure quality standards.
- Ability to understand and use quality equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify problems, analyze data and implement solutions.
- Proficient in production management software and ERP system (PLEX)
- Overall good communication skills to management.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operator and maintain machines.
- Complete reel changes.
- Meet productivity standards.
- Troubleshoot issues with quality or machine. Understanding machine and make necessary adjustments.
- Suggest improvements to processes or procedures.
- Participate in safety observation programs as required.
- Complete any required documentation.
- Perform 5S and other housekeeping duties required for a clean and safe work environment.
- Understand Packaging/Bag Sealing, Labeling, etc., to train to standard.
- Measuring parts with gauges, calipers, and other quality equipment.
- Record production, quality, scrap and print labels through Plex and other software.
- Wire feed machine during reel changes, etc. Process will need to be learned.
- Additional duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to be on time, dependable and reliable.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail with problem solving skills.
- Ability to stand and be in motion throughout the shift.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
