The Quality Data Abstractor is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and maintaining accurate healthcare data used to support quality programs and clinical improvement initiatives. This role collaborates with internal teams to ensure data integrity, compliance with abstraction requirements, and timely reporting.
- Collect, coordinate, and manage clinical process, outcome, and data variance information according to established guidelines.
- Abstract relevant information from medical records and ensure accurate documentation of clinical data.
- Enter collected data into designated databases while maintaining completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Partner with program leadership to support data collection activities and quality improvement efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of abstraction standards, reporting requirements, and applicable healthcare guidelines.
- Review data for accuracy and identify potential discrepancies requiring follow-up or clarification.
The ideal candidate brings healthcare information management expertise, strong analytical skills, and experience working with clinical data. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to supporting healthcare quality initiatives.
- Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) certification or equivalent clinical experience required.
- Recent experience with medical record abstraction is preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare documentation practices, clinical data review, and quality reporting processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed information accurately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams.

- Competitive salary range of approximately $59,092.80 - $85,051.20 USD annually, depending on skills, experience, certifications, education, and location.
