Information Technology (IT) Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Specialist based in the United States.

This role provides the opportunity to support mission-critical enterprise software solutions within a complex government technology environment. You will contribute to the design, development, modernization, and sustainment of secure applications that support essential services for end users. Working within an Agile and SAFe framework, you will collaborate with developers, product teams, testers, and technical stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle. The position combines software engineering, systems support, DevSecOps practices, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure technology solutions. Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications using Agile and SAFe development methodologies throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Scrum activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to support iterative delivery.
  • Develop and enhance web applications, APIs, integrations, and enterprise solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies and modern software engineering practices.
  • Design, implement, and support RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and secure data integrations using technologies such as JSON and XML.
  • Build responsive user interfaces while ensuring accessibility, usability, performance, and alignment with application standards.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, including queries, stored procedures, and data models.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing processes, source control practices, and DevSecOps workflows to improve software delivery and security.
  • Perform secure coding practices, code reviews, vulnerability assessments, static and dynamic analysis, and remediation activities to maintain application security and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot application defects, production issues, and performance challenges while implementing long-term improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Support application modernization initiatives by improving system architecture, scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system design artifacts, configuration documentation, and development standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, testers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver reliable solutions that meet mission and business requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments, including Windows server infrastructure, systems administration, and IT operations.
  • Proven experience developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise web applications using Microsoft .NET technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Blazor, and Entity Framework.
  • Experience working within Agile and/or SAFe environments, including participation in Scrum ceremonies and iterative software delivery processes.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), T-SQL, stored procedures, and data integration practices.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure coding, and code analysis tools.
  • Experience troubleshooting software defects, production incidents, and application performance issues.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, GitHub, Jira, MSTest, NUnit, xUnit, Fortify, and CodeQL.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Experience working as a federal contractor or government employee is preferred.
  • Experience supporting government healthcare environments is preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely during Eastern Time Zone business hours and satisfy security clearance and onboarding requirements.
