Position Summary

Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking a tax accountant to maintain tax records and prepare tax returns, related schedules, and related reports for the Company and its subsidiaries.

What You'll Do

• Review and advise on sales and use tax impact on proposed contractual agreements and jobs.
• Acquire applicable Texas state sales and use tax registrations, applicable business licenses, and/or sales and use tax licenses.
• Provide as-needed sales and use tax training to field and home office personnel.
• Prepare supporting documentation for local, state, and federal level returns.
• Conduct research relating to tax matters and provide documentation to management on proper course of action.
• Prepare property tax information for annual filings and valuations in relevant states.
• Communicate with job sites/locations to gather personal property details.
• Work with tax consultants for submission of reports and determination of fair market values.
• Prepare financial and supporting documents for annual state pre-qualification.
• Assist with supporting documentation for state and federal level returns. Assist with research relating to tax matters and provide documentation to management on proper course of action.
• Complete and submit various compliance reports for federal, state, and local authorities.
• Review and interpret legal documents for compliance provisions and defined financial metrics.
• Assist the accounting department with preparation of relevant tax and financial accruals and entries. Complete other accounting/finance related projects requested by management.
• Will be expected to perform a variety of complicated accounting tasks.

What We're Looking For

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-3 years' experience in tax accounting or related area.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows and in MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Must be familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Problem solving and reasoning skills.
