As a Small Parts Lamination Lead, you'll play a key role in supporting production, developing teammates, and ensuring our products meet the high standards our customers expect. The Small Parts Lamination Lead oversees the daily operations of the Small Parts Lamination area, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are achieved. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating workflow, training and supporting teammates, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring all fiberglass lamination processes are completed according to engineering specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the daily activities of the Small Parts Lamination team.
  • Assign work and monitor production to meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
  • Train, coach, and mentor teammates on proper lamination techniques, SOPs, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure all parts are laminated according to engineering specifications and work instructions.
  • Inspect finished work and verify defects are corrected before parts move to the next operation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
  • Report material shortages, tooling issues, equipment concerns, and quality problems to management.
  • Ensure all required quality documentation and production records are completed accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Production to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Perform hands-on lamination work as needed to support production.
  • Assist management with scheduling, attendance, and daily production priorities.
  • Work overtime as required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous fiberglass lamination experience required; lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fiberglass lamination processes, composite materials, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to train and motivate teammates while maintaining accountability.
  • Basic computer skills and production documentation experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical production work throughout the shift.
