Building Maintenance in Evansville, Indiana at Black Equipment Co Inc

Black Equipment is seeking a dependable and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily upkeep and maintenance of our facility and surrounding grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring the building remains safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained through routine inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and general groundskeeping duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility and identify maintenance needs.
• Repair minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
• Maintain building systems, equipment, fixtures, and common areas.
• Assist with painting, patching, and other facility improvement projects.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance including trimming, landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Load and unload semi-trailers.

Qualifications

• Previous building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required.
• No moving violations or major driving infractions within the past five (5) years.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
