Job Description

Description:

Morrison Cup Solutions is a fast-growing Oklahoma City based foodservice packaging company. Our core focus is to make a branded cup the simplest way for America’s mom & pop retailers to market themselves. By relentlessly focusing on disrupting legacy manufacturing techniques with shorter production run enhancements, we aim to be America’s #1 branded cup company in the small to medium-size customer base.

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable mechanically inclined individual to support the Production Department of Morrison Cup Solutions. The Parts & Inventory Specialist owns the maintenance storeroom from end to end. You will identify parts, source and order them, track every item in our CMMS, and keep stock at the right levels. You will work closely with maintenance technicians, production leads, vendors, and the Plant Manager to keep downtime low and spending under control.

The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm CT

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Parts identification

  • Identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic parts using part numbers, manuals, drawings, nameplates, and OEM catalogs.
  • Cross-reference OEM parts to approved equivalents when it saves cost or lead time.
  • Inspect incoming parts to confirm the correct item, quantity, and condition before stocking.

Sourcing and purchasing

  • Request quotes, compare price and lead time, and place orders with approved vendors.
  • Find sources for hard-to-find, obsolete, or urgent parts to support breakdown repairs.
  • Track open orders, expedite late shipments, and resolve shipping, billing, and return issues.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers.

Inventory management

  • Receive, label, and put away parts in an organized, clearly marked storeroom.
  • Issue parts to technicians and record every transaction against the correct work order or asset.
  • Run regular cycle counts and resolve any differences between physical stock and system records.
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and duplicate stock and recommend action.
  • Manage consumable supplies for each department, including tracking usage, stocking supply areas, and preventing shortages.
  • Complete the weekly inventory request: count consumables, gather each department's needs, and submit the request on time.
  • Distribute received consumables to the correct departments and keep accurate records of what each department uses.

Replenishment

  • Set and review minimum and maximum stock levels and reorder points for each item.
  • Monitor usage trends and reorder before stock runs out.
  • Stage kits and parts ahead of scheduled preventive maintenance and planned shutdowns.
  • Keep critical spares on hand for equipment that would stop production if it failed.

CMMS and records

  • Keep the CMMS (Maintain X) accurate: item masters, descriptions, bin locations, vendors, and costs.
  • Link parts to equipment and work orders so repair history and spending are tracked.
  • Run inventory, usage, and spending reports for the Plant Manager.

Communication

  • Giv technicians and production leads clear updates on part availability and arrival dates.
  • Alert the Plant Manager early to stock-outs, long lead times, and cost increases.
  • Work with maintenance, production, purchasing, and accounting to keep orders and records aligned.

Other duties

  • Keep the storeroom clean, safe, and secure.
  • Follow all MCS safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Requirements:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience as a parts clerk, storeroom attendant, or inventory specialist in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong ability to identify industrial parts, including bearings, belts, motors, sensors, fittings, and fasteners.
  • Hands-on experience with a CMMS (such as MaintainX, Fiix, UpKeep, Limble, eMaint, or SAP PM) or a similar inventory system.
  • Proven experience sourcing parts, comparing vendors, and placing purchase orders.
  • Working knowledge of min/max levels, reorder points, and cycle counting.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.

Preferred

  • Experience in printing, packaging, or converting operations.
  • Familiarity with printing press, die-cutting, or forming equipment parts.
  • Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge.
  • Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain it.

Physical demands and work environment

  • Work takes place in a manufacturing plant and storeroom, with some time at a desk.
  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb ladders.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lb.
  • Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
  • Exposure to plant noise, moving equipment, and seasonal temperature changes.
