This strategic leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and elevate enterprise-wide HR operations within a mission-driven and fast-paced organization. The Vice President, Human Resources Operations will oversee critical people functions including compliance, employee lifecycle operations, benefits administration, and HR systems optimization. Working closely with executive leadership, this role will drive transformational initiatives that improve employee experience, operational excellence, and organizational effectiveness. - Lead and execute a long-term HR operations strategy focused on improving employee experience, operational efficiency, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
- Oversee HR operations functions including employee lifecycle management, compliance and reporting, benefits administration, HR systems, and policy implementation.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on HR operations, workforce strategy, compliance matters, and talent systems optimization.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws while maintaining up-to-date policies, employee handbooks, and compliance procedures.
- Develop and implement scalable HR processes, systems, and service standards that support organizational growth and operational consistency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR operations team while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, operational metrics, and reporting frameworks to evaluate HR effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal leaders and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and employee engagement efforts.
- Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and operational resources to ensure efficiency and strong return on investment.
- Support organizational change management initiatives and lead transformational projects across HR operations and talent systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in HR, employee relations, labor relations, public administration, education, or related environments.
- At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing teams and complex HR operations functions.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, employee lifecycle management, and benefits administration.
- Demonstrated experience driving organizational change, systems implementation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead effectively within complex, multi-layered organizations and build strong relationships across departments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to leverage data to inform decisions and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to leadership and diverse stakeholder groups.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations professionally.
- Proficiency with HR systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace tools.
- SPHR, SHRM-CP, or related HR certification is preferred.
- Experience within public education, charter schools, or mission-driven organizations is considered a strong advantage.
- Competitive salary ranging from $130,000 to $173,500 annually
