Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for patients with mental health needs.
- Assess patient mental health status, develop personalized treatment plans, and track progress.
- Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing acute distress.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, case managers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record within established timeframes and organizational standards.
- Comply withall mandatory reporting laws and organizational protocols related to patient safety, abuse, neglect, and crisis intervention.
- Participate in community outreach and mental health awareness programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques for individual and group counseling, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and solution-focused therapy.
- Ability to assess mental health needs, diagnose conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Skills in providing immediate support and intervention for patients in crisis or experiencing acute distress.
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population,demonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect for varied backgrounds.
- Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with healthcare providers, case managers, and other professionals within an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document patient progress and collaborate with team members.
- Deep understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality laws, ensuring patient privacy ismaintained at all times.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care that empowers individuals to improve their mental health.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills toidentifyissues, develop treatment strategies, andmonitorprogress.
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads, track patient progress, and maintain accuraterecords.
- Regular and predictable onsite attendance.
Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Active, unrestricted Florida licensure as Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previousexperience in providing mental health counseling, preferably in a healthcare or community-based setting.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and mental health treatment strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and provide culturally competent care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of sitting while conducting virtual therapy sessions, attending meetings, and completing documentation.
- Prolonged use of a computer, including typing, navigating software, and reviewing patient records.
- Ability to focus on a computer screen for extended periods to conduct video sessions, review patient notes, and communicate via email or other platforms.
- Effective verbal communication for virtual counseling sessions, meetings, and discussions with colleagues or patients.
- Ability to maintain focus and provide quality care during virtual sessions, while managing caseloads and responding to patient needs in a home environment.
- Minimal travel may berequiredfor teammeetings, training, or in-person visits as needed (depending on specificrole).
