POSITION SUMMARY:
Working as part of a collaborative team, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible for creating a positive environment that will enhance children’s emotional, social, creative, physical and intellectual development. The successful applicant will be responsible for looking after all aspects of the care and safety of young children in a developmentally appropriate environment and supports families to ensure a positive experience within the YWCA Child Development Centre.
POSITION REPORTING:
Reports to the Manager, Child Development Centre
LOCATION:
Your primary work location will be at our Wall Street Child Development Centre. As YWCA Saskatoon operates across multiple sites, you may be required to work at other organizational locations based on operational needs.

HOURS OF WORK:
- Hours may vary between 7 am to 6 pm.
SALARY: $15.97/hr (Step 1 – Child Development Centre Grid)
Please note that the SEIU – West is the union and bargaining agent for all in scope employees.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- With a room partner, supervise all aspects of daily activities for an assigned group of children.
- Support and work collaboratively with all staff.
- Fulfill other responsibilities, like performing administrative tasks, to contribute to the continuous upkeep and improvement of the YWCA Saskatoon team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- This position requires a valid ECE Level 1 Certification.
- Valid First/Aid CPR certification
- Current Criminal record and vulnerable sector clearance
