Siema Construction, a small heavy highway/civil construction company with over 20 years of experience, is seeking motivated Craftsperson/General Laborers to join our team. We specialize in commercial site work, concrete paving, building foundations, and hauling.

Position Overview:

Craftsperson/General Laborers will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor in highway, roadway, commercial sites, and heavy civil construction projects. Responsibilities include operating hand tools and small power tools, job site clean-up, traffic control, and assisting with various construction activities such as carpentry and concrete finishing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead by example, promoting company values and ensuring safety for yourself and others.
2. Work under the supervision of foreman and/or superintendent.
3. Load, unload, and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools.
4. Clean and lubricate machinery, equipment, and tools.
5. Perform janitorial tasks to maintain a clean job site.
6. Control traffic around work zones.
7. Operate construction power tools, hand tools, and small equipment.
8. Position, join, align, and seal structural components.
9. Assist in concrete placement and form wrecking.
10. Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth.
11. Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
12. Have knowledge in civil carpentry, concrete finishing, or small equipment operation.
13. Operate small heavy equipment safely.
14. Use jackhammers and other power tools to break up concrete.
15. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment and adjustments.
16. Assist in repairing machinery and building forms for concrete pouring.
17. Mix and apply grout on structures.
18. Comply with all safety and project rules.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

1. Proficient in basic reading, writing, addition, and subtraction.
2. Basic understanding of equipment and construction tasks.
3. Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
4. Must pass controlled substance tests before and during employment.
5. Physical ability to lift/carry 50-100 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and perform tasks in extreme weather conditions.
6. Experience: 3 years in heavy highway/civil or related construction.
7. Completion of Siema Safety Orientation Course, Siema 60-day Orientation Course, LADOTD Certified Flagger training, Small tools training, Rigger Training, and Intro to Equipment training.
8. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
