Position Summary, Semiconductor Assembly Co-op
This co-op provides hands-on experience with semiconductor assembly equipment, including dispense systems, die attach, microscopes, and inspection tools. The student will support process qualifications, data collection, and process development runs, assist with customer builds, and help create and update standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to operate a variety of semiconductor assembly equipment potentially including adhesive/underfill dispense, die attach, optical/IR microscopes, stylus profilometer, x-ray, etc.)
- Carry out periodic process qualifications and inspections and log data to establish process repeatability.
- Run process development batches to expand process capabilities.
- Assemble customer builds using proven, repeatable processes.
- Create and revise standard operating procedures and work instructions based on experience with the equipment.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications, Semiconductor Assembly Co-op
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a relevant undergraduate or graduate engineering program (microelectronics, mechanical, or materials) and has completed at least two years of their program if undergraduate.
- Must be available for at least 6 months of continuous, full-time employment.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor packaging concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications, Semiconductor Assembly Co-op
- Experience with Inspection/imaging with optical microscopes
- Hand soldering
- Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment (manual probes, SMUs, etc.)
