Quality Assurance Supervisor in Oak Brook, Illinois at Independence Plus

Independence Plus is now hiring a full-time Quality Assurance Supervisor. This person will work from our corporate office in Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) and reports to the Director of Operations. Full benefits available; PTO, medical, dental, vision coverage and 401(k) company plan. After training, this role qualifies as a hybrid position.

The Quality Assurance Supervisor coordinates and conducts clinical record reviews for Skilled Home Nursing (Private Duty) and Home Health Visits, recommends corrections, and supports program units and management in carrying out quality initiatives.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Coordinates and conducts clinical record reviews for Skilled Home Nursing (Private Duty) and Home Health Visits and assists program units and management with quality initiatives and activities.
• Coordinates and conducts audits of the patient’s record documents regarding patient care to determine if it is administered in a way that demonstrates adherence to physician orders, constitutes skilled care, and follows IPI’s policies and procedures, while tracking trends of agency quality indicators and thresholds.
• Drafts reports including QAPI for licensed programs as required and helps facilitate meetings as required.
• Provides education of field nurses regarding documentation requirements for regulatory agencies, contracted payors, accrediting agency and company policy.
• Ensures nursing e-Charting and corrections are completed timely and coordinates with management on follow up as needed.
• Accepts accountability for own professional practice.
• Maintains ongoing relationships with all multidisciplinary team members and keeps all individuals appropriately updated.
• Maintains and adheres to policies and procedures, State and Federal regulations, other payer source requirements, and CHAP accrediting body standards.
• Maintains competency by participating in continuing education programs.
• Participates in meetings as required.
• Upholds and transmits the company’s mission and values.
• Supports agency wide efforts and initiatives to maintain ongoing compliance with and preparation for CHAP accreditation, state and federal licensure standards and surveys.
• Regularly updates position-related knowledge, skills, and functions as a quality assurance resource to agency personnel.
• Acts as a resource to field personnel and clinical managers regarding standards and all regulations (IPI, State, Federal, CHAP, and general nursing).
• Promotes home health, home nursing and respiratory/HME referrals.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

• Professional with strong background in health information, medical coding, therapy, healthcare compliance, and/or billing.
• Minimum of one year experience of quality/performance improvement concepts, preferably with an emphasis in Skilled Home Nursing and/or Home Health.
• Experience in OASIS, chart review, regulatory knowledge, and proficiency in navigation of EMR preferred.
• Understands performance improvement, quality assurance, and utilization management
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent coordination, communication, and supervisor skills
• Ability to maintain flexibility while fulfilling role obligations
• Proficient in basic computer skills and electronic medical records, demonstrated competency with Excel and KanTime preferred.
