Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Finance Department through account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop strong general ledger accounting skills, gain exposure to financial statement preparation and audit processes, and work closely with Finance leadership on special projects and operational initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and amortizations.
  • Review and analyze account balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review transactions and account coding to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Support financial and operational analysis projects.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to improve processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Troubleshoot accounting and system-related issues as they arise.
  • Contribute to a professional and organized work environment.
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance and a commitment to supporting team objectives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in Accounting with at least two (2) years of general ledger accounting experience or
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
