This is a mission-driven volunteer leadership opportunity focused on strengthening support for program instructors.
You will lead the development and implementation of a mentoring program designed to help instructors succeed in their volunteer roles.
The position combines mentoring, team leadership, program coordination, and continuous improvement.
You will provide personalized guidance, identify development needs, and ensure instructors have access to the resources they need.
The role also involves setting objectives, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes to improve the program over time.
You will collaborate with other program teams to create a consistent and supportive experience across initiatives.
This flexible, remote-friendly opportunity is suited to an experienced mentor, educator, or STEM professional passionate about expanding access to STEM learning.

• Lead the development and implementation of the instructor mentoring program, ensuring volunteers receive appropriate guidance, support, and resources throughout their engagement.
• Provide personalized mentoring, coaching, and guidance to program instructors based on their individual needs and responsibilities.
• Establish clear mentoring program objectives, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other program teams to integrate mentoring initiatives effectively with broader program activities.
• Identify instructor training and development needs and create or coordinate relevant learning resources.
• Foster a supportive, collaborative environment that encourages instructors to develop their skills and succeed in their volunteer roles.
• Use virtual collaboration tools and communication channels to maintain effective engagement with instructors and team members.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in mentoring, teaching, coaching, training, or a related field; STEM experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate, support, and inspire others.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for building productive and meaningful relationships with program instructors.
• Demonstrated organizational, coordination, and program management skills.
• Ability to establish objectives, monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Passion for education and a commitment to expanding STEM learning opportunities for underserved communities.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
• Proficiency with virtual collaboration tools and platforms for remote mentoring and program coordination.
• Strong commitment to the mission and ability to dedicate approximately six flexible hours per week for a minimum six-month engagement.
