Saw Operator - Entry Level in Frederick, Maryland at Equipment Development Company

Looking for a steady, hands-on job where you can build real shop skills and grow into a trade? We’re hiring a Saw Operator to join our machine shop team. This is a great opportunity for someone dependable, willing to learn, and ready to work with their hands.

No advanced experience required — we will train the right person.

Monday – Friday
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

$18.39 – $22.47 per hour (based on experience and skill level)

As a Saw Operator, you’ll help prepare materials used to make parts. You will learn to:

• Load and unload an automatic bandsaw
• Cut bar stock and tubing to required lengths
• Prepare raw materials for production use
• Deburr parts using a vertical sander
• Move and organize materials throughout the shop
• Operate a stationary drill press
• Assist with other shop tasks as needed

This is an entry-level friendly position. We will train the right candidate.

Helpful (but not required) background:

• Warehouse or general labor work
• Manufacturing or production
• Construction
• Shop or vocational training

• Basic ability to read a tape measure
• Simple math skills
• Ability to follow instructions and basic drawings
• Comfortable working with hands and tools
• Willingness to learn machine shop equipment

• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs occasionally
• Standing and active work for up to 8 hours per day
• Bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift
• Working safely around machinery and equipment
