Program Manager – RWJBarnabas Health

Our Program Managers play an essential role in supporting the growth, development, and day-to-day operations of the Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes. Working collaboratively with the Administrative Director, physicians, clinical and administrative teams, patients, families, schools, athletic organizations, and community partners, our Program Managers help ensure that programs are delivered efficiently, consistently, and with a strong focus on patient experience and quality. Through program development, staff leadership, operational improvement, community outreach, event coordination, partnership management, and performance monitoring, our Program Managers help advance the mission and continued growth of the Morahan Center and its satellite locations. As a Program Manager, a typical day might include the following:

• Supporting the Administrative Director in the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of policies, procedures, programs, and services for the Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes.

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the Morahan Center, with a focus on patient case management, operational efficiency, program growth, and an exceptional patient and partner experience.

• Leading and supporting staff across the Morahan Center and satellite locations, including scheduling, staffing, performance management, payroll, performance appraisals, orientation, competencies, and ongoing professional development.

• Overseeing appropriate staffing and flexing of team members to support operational needs while maintaining budgetary goals and high standards of service.

• Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of new staff and helping ensure team members are prepared to effectively execute department programs and services.

• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with physician practices, school athletic trainers, athletic directors, institutions, patients, families, and organizations that partner with or utilize Morahan Center services.

• Managing and supporting the execution of community programs, screenings, and events across Morahan Center satellite locations, including coordination of staff, resources, workflow, and operational needs.

• Coordinating community events and providing support for clinical testing and health assessment services for individuals, schools, organizations, and other institutions.

• Assisting with the development and implementation of strategies to improve patient care, patient management, referral processes, and operational performance across the Morahan Center and satellite locations.

• Working with frontline staff and leadership to streamline office processes and procedures, including supply management, Epic enhancements, scheduling workflows, and optimization of concussion patient appointments.

• Supporting the development and implementation of strategies to streamline sports injury referrals and improve coordination of services across Morahan Center satellite locations.

• Developing and supporting incentive-based initiatives designed to promote ancillary service-line growth and downstream revenue opportunities.

• Monitoring and reporting program performance, dashboard metrics, and monthly statistics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

• Managing and maintaining invoicing associated with existing partnerships and contracted services.

• Assisting the Administrative Director with the execution of marketing strategies designed to promote existing services, develop new service lines, and support the continued growth of the Morahan Center for Athletes.

• Supporting marketing, education, and promotional efforts for community programs, health screenings, sports medicine services, and Morahan Center initiatives.

• Collaborating with physicians, clinical teams, administrative staff, schools, community organizations, and external partners to identify opportunities for program enhancement and improved service delivery.

• Assisting with data gathering, performance monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

To Be Considered:

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

• Experience: Previous experience in healthcare operations, program management, sports medicine, healthcare administration, community health, staff management, or a related healthcare setting is preferred.

• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop staff, manage competing priorities, and coordinate day-to-day operations in a healthcare or service-oriented environment.

• Program Management: Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, events, projects, and operational initiatives while maintaining attention to detail and meeting established goals.

• Business & Operational Skills: Ability to monitor performance metrics, support revenue-growth initiatives, manage invoicing and partnership activities, and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn and effectively utilize Epic and other electronic healthcare, scheduling, reporting, and documentation systems.

• Schedule Requirements: Ability to work a full time schedule based on program, operational, community event, and satellite location needs.
