This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Director, Cardiology based in the United States.

This home-based leadership role provides medical, clinical, and scientific expertise across clinical research programs in cardiology.
You will serve as a medical advisor throughout the delivery lifecycle of assigned clinical trials.
The role combines medical monitoring, scientific guidance, investigator support, and clinical development expertise.
You will also contribute to business development by shaping medically sound strategies and client proposals.
Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will help address protocol, safety, eligibility, and scientific questions.
The position offers exposure to Phase I–IV development programs and complex, multi-region studies.
It also provides opportunities to contribute to industry knowledge, client engagements, and the advancement of clinical research.

• Serve as a global and/or regional medical advisor on assigned clinical research projects, providing scientific and therapeutic guidance throughout the study lifecycle.

• Support investigative sites and project teams with protocol questions, eligibility and inclusion/exclusion decisions, patient-safety matters, and other medical issues.

• Review clinical study materials, including protocols, investigator documentation, case report forms, clinical study reports, and patient narratives.

• Provide therapeutic-area training to clinical teams and participate in investigator meetings, project kick-offs, team meetings, and client discussions.

• Review and clarify adverse events and, when required, serious adverse events in collaboration with pharmacovigilance teams, including supporting analysis of similar events and adverse-event coding.

• Provide timely medical support for urgent protocol-related questions from investigative sites, including availability outside standard hours where required and permitted by local labor laws.

• Advise business development teams on medical and scientific delivery strategies for small to large or complex multi-region studies.

• Contribute to client proposals by reviewing protocols for scientific, regulatory, and operational feasibility and advising on medical-monitoring requirements and budgets.

• Support assessments of target investigator and site profiles, anticipated recruitment, standards of care, and the competitive clinical landscape.

• Participate in bid-defense preparation, client presentations, strategic business development activities, and other medical advisory engagements.

• Maintain awareness of developments across the relevant therapeutic area and contribute to related scientific publications or thought leadership when appropriate.

• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, investigators, and multidisciplinary project teams while supporting periodic regional and international travel.

• Medical degree from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school, with a curriculum relevant to the therapeutic area.

• Current or prior license to practice medicine and board certification in Cardiology.

• At least 5 years of clinical medicine experience following residency, with typically 5–7 years of relevant experience in cardiology or the applicable medical specialty.

• Previous clinical research experience as an investigator or within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or contract research environment.

• Experience across Phase I–IV clinical development programs.

• Strong understanding of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and competitive landscape within cardiology.

• Experience with medical monitoring, clinical trial delivery, protocol review, patient safety, and investigator/site support.

• Prior exposure to metabolic disease indications is preferred.

• Strong ability to provide medical consultation and practical advice across multiple assignments while managing changing priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with strong presentation and interpersonal capabilities.

• Ability to establish productive relationships with colleagues, managers, clients, investigators, and other stakeholders.

• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, sound judgment, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Willingness and ability to travel periodically on a regional and international basis.

• Home-based position within the United States.

• Annualized base salary range of $154,900–$431,500, with actual compensation determined by factors such as qualifications, skills, education, experience, location, and work schedule.
