Job Description

Senior Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in United States.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building features and maintaining the quality, stability, and performance of live mobile gaming products. You will work across game clients and backend services, with a strong focus on Unity, C#, and modern software engineering practices. From initial implementation through testing and release, you will take ownership of features and help ensure they are reliable in production. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Art teams to turn creative concepts into polished, shippable experiences. The role also involves diagnosing production issues, improving established codebases, and contributing to technical decisions and engineering standards. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact in a remote, cross-functional game development environment serving a large global player base.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain features across mobile game clients and backend services.
  • Translate requirements and creative concepts from Product, Design, and Art teams into reliable and scalable technical implementations.
  • Own features throughout the development lifecycle, from implementation and validation through production release and ongoing support.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, including crashes, client-server integration problems, performance bottlenecks, and regressions.
  • Refactor and improve existing code to strengthen maintainability, stability, performance, and overall software quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical architecture, design decisions, and engineering standards.
  • Estimate development work, identify dependencies, and proactively surface technical risks that could affect delivery.
  • Maintain the health and reliability of content and build pipelines supporting client and server deployments.
  • Validate changes through automated testing, in-game testing, release checks, and other quality assurance practices.
  • Support production releases and investigate issues that emerge after deployment.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and professional experience developing and shipping mobile games using Unity.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, data structures, system design, and software engineering principles.
  • Experience developing consumer-facing applications and supporting products in live production environments.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities, particularly when working within established and complex codebases.
  • Experience improving code quality and product stability through automated testing, code reviews, version control, and related engineering practices.
  • Ability to independently take ownership of features and drive them from implementation through production with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical constraints, estimates, risks, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Go (Golang), including backend service development, API design, and database integration, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with casual or mid-core mobile games and their mechanics is a plus.
  • Experience with mobile release processes, CI/CD pipelines, and App Store or Google Play submissions is preferred.
  • Experience developing native Unity plugins using Objective-C/Swift for iOS or Java/Kotlin for Android is a plus.
  • Familiarity with live analytics platforms or business intelligence tools is an advantage.

Benefits:

  • Annual base salary of $100,000–$200,000 for employees based in California, Washington, or Massachusetts; salary ranges may vary for other eligible locations.
  • Actual compensation is determined based on work location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
  • Full-time, fully remote position.
  • Open to candidates based in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Connecticut, Hawaii, Arizona, or Massachusetts.
  • Team collaboration hours are generally aligned with 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
  • Opportunity to work on mobile games with a global player audience across multiple genres.
  • Permanent employment with a remote-first development environment.
  • Opportunities to collaborate across engineering, product, design, and art disciplines.
