Floater in Phoenix, Arizona at MR STEEL ACQUISITION CORP

Position Objective: The Floater assists with the construction, assembly, finishing, loading and installation of modular building components. This position provides flexible support throughout the plant assisting various teams as needed. This position helps maintain workflow, meet production schedules, and support a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the construction and assembly of modular buildings and components
• Load, unload, move, and organize building materials, tools and equipment
• Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled trades
• Perform measuring, cutting, fastening, drilling, and other basic construction tasks
• Assist with interior and exterior finishing work, including drywall, trim, flooring, siding, and general cleanup
• Prepare work areas and maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
• Follow plans, instructions, and direction from supervisors and foremen
• Assist with preparing modules for transportation and installation
• Help with setup, installation, and final site work
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Construction or general labor experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools or willingness to learn
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Strong work ethic, dependability and commitment to workplace safety

Job Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; and push, pull and maneuver materials and equipment
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb and work in various positions
• Ability to lift and carry materials, tools and equipment; must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform job duties, identify hazards, read measurements and instructions and operate tools and equipment
• Ability to work with both hands and maintain sufficient hand strength and dexterity for repetitive tasks
• Ability to work in a manufacturing/production environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations
