This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a AMS Senior Certified HCM Consultant, Advanced Compensation based in the United States.
This role is a high-impact consulting position focused on delivering expert-level Workday HCM solutions, with a strong emphasis on Advanced Compensation. You will act as both a strategic advisor and hands-on functional expert, supporting clients through optimization, enhancement, and ongoing AMS (Application Management Services) engagements. The role involves working closely with enterprise clients to translate complex business needs into scalable Workday configurations. You will also contribute to system stability, continuous improvement, and adoption of best practices across HR and compensation processes. Operating in a fully remote and collaborative environment, you will engage with cross-functional teams including integrations, data conversion, and project management. In addition to client delivery, the role includes mentoring junior consultants and helping elevate overall team capability. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment and enjoys combining technical configuration with strategic HR advisory work.
This role is responsible for providing expert-level support and strategic consulting across Workday HCM environments, with a focus on Advanced Compensation. You will guide clients through solution design, configuration, testing, and ongoing optimization while ensuring high-quality delivery and adoption.
- Lead or support Workday HCM and Advanced Compensation configurations, including requirements gathering, solution design, prototyping, testing, and deployment
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday HCM, particularly Advanced Compensation functionality and best practices
- Support data conversion activities and ensure accurate migration of legacy HR data into Workday
- Collaborate with integration teams to configure and test integrations with third-party and internal systems
- Provide ongoing AMS support, ensuring system enhancements, issue resolution, and continuous improvement
- Mentor and coach junior consultants while contributing to team knowledge sharing and capability development
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide clear project updates, risks, and recommendations
- Help clients adopt Workday best practices and maximize system value post-deployment
- Ensure functional solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with downstream systems and integrations
- Contribute to innovation in deployment approaches, tools, and consulting methodologies
- Maintain Workday certifications and stay current with platform updates and releases
This role requires deep Workday implementation experience combined with strong consulting and client-facing skills. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and experienced in delivering multiple HCM solutions in complex environments.
- Current Workday HCM Certification and/or Advanced Compensation Certification
- 5+ years of experience configuring and implementing HCM systems (Workday or similar platforms such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, ADP, Ultimate)
- Prior consulting experience within a consulting firm or software implementation environment
- Strong functional expertise in HCM areas such as Compensation, Talent, Performance, Recruitment, Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking
- Experience gathering requirements, performing business analysis, and translating needs into system configurations
- Ability to manage timelines, priorities, and multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder management capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving system requirements
- Experience with integration concepts and downstream system impacts is highly desirable
- Project management experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Willingness to travel occasionally (~5%) as needed
