Launching in the Fall of 2026, Recess Hotel & Club will transform Savannah’s storied Manger Building into a new kind of lifestyle hotel and clubhouse. With 221 rooms—including suites and bunk rooms—plus co-working, a rooftop pool, a circuit-based wellness club, a French brasserie, and layered social spaces, Recess is designed as a “public club”: a private clubhouse for all. Locals, members, and travelers will come together to eat, drink, work, play, and connect.

About the role

Le Flâneur, the signature French brasserie at Recess Hotel & Club, is seeking warm, polished, and hospitality-driven Hosts to join our team. Inspired by the timeless charm of a French brasserie, Le Flâneur offers a vibrant dining experience rooted in genuine hospitality, exceptional food and beverage, and meaningful guest connections.

As a Host, you will set the tone for the guest experience from the moment guests arrive. Serving as the first and last impression of the restaurant, you will welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, manage reservations and seating flow, and help create a seamless dining experience. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and gracious presence.

What you'll do

  • Welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism upon arrival
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to optimize the guest experience and restaurant flow
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide information about the restaurant, menus, and daily features
  • Answer phone calls and assist guests with reservations, inquiries, and special requests
  • Coordinate with managers, servers, and support staff to ensure efficient seating and service
  • Maintain awareness of table status, reservation timing, and dining room capacity throughout service
  • Assist with guest communications before, during, and after their dining experience
  • Help manage special occasions, VIP guests, and member experiences with attention to detail
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and reception areas
  • Support opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Assist with menu presentation and guest wayfinding throughout the restaurant
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Contribute to a welcoming, polished, and hospitality-focused environment

Qualifications

  • Previous host, restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or guest-facing experience preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Friendly, professional, and confident demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with reservation platforms and restaurant technology preferred
  • Ability to remain composed and service-focused during busy periods
  • Professional presentation and grooming standards
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift as needed
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
