Job Title: Temporary Southwest PA Specialist
Reports to: Manager of Network Growth and Compliance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Programs
Duration: This is a temporary full-time position that is exacted to last an estimated duration of two-years
Job Summary:
The Southwest PA Specialist is a local resident of Washington County who has a passion for improving food security. The Specialist will provide support to the Collective Impact Initiatives, Partner Network and Food Recovery teams.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with and support the Collective Impact Specialist assigned to Washington County
- Support the scheduling and facilitation of working group meetings
- Coordinate and lead subcommittee meetings
- Complement and support the work of the Network Growth and Compliance Coordinator assigned to Washington County. Tasks may include:
- Visiting partners
- Providing customer service to partners
- Providing back-end support to help partners complete compliance requirements
- Field, investigate and resolve complaints
- Participate in Impact Grant review meetings
- Support partners with Link2Feed usage
- Act as the point person for new projects or initiatives that develop within the County as part of the Food Bank’s strategic plan and operational response plan efforts
- Support the food recovery team in the expansion of food recovery programming and coordination in Washington County.
- Other duties as assigned.
Programs Generalist Support Tasks
- Support other Food Bank programs teams as needed, including:
- Providing onsite and/or planning support for distributions
- Conducting SNAP outreach
- Supporting child nutrition programs and outreach
- Providing SNAP application assistance
Required Characteristics, Abilities & Skills:
- Resident of Washington County; position will be based out of and fully immersed within that county, with some potential for travel and support across our service area.
- Deep passion for eliminating hunger and its root causes.
- Passion for economic, social and racial justice issues.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills: good listener and thoughtful respondent; positive influencer.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills.
- Disposition and willingness to innovate, problem solve, test, fail and adjust.
- Project coordination and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail; meet deadlines, ability to handle interruptions, and produce timely, accurate work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, and previous Human Service experience preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working with planning and consulting.
- Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service to diverse populations—including seniors, volunteers, and others.
- Impeccable organizational, clerical, and communication skills.
- First-hand, in-depth knowledge of the communities within Washington County.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated experience with conflict management.
- Experience working cooperatively within and across teams; belief in the value and power of participatory decision-making.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain Act 33/34 Clearances
