Group Manager, Product Design

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Group Manager, Product Design based in the United States.

This leadership role sits at the intersection of product design, strategy, and team development within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
You will lead and grow a high-performing design team focused on solving complex, real-world problems in the home services industry.
The role combines hands-on design leadership with strategic influence across product direction, roadmap, and execution.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data teams to deliver cohesive, data-informed user experiences.
A strong emphasis is placed on modern design practices, including the use of AI tools to accelerate creativity and delivery.
You will shape scalable design systems, UX standards, and inclusive product experiences across multiple teams.
This is a high-impact role where your work directly influences product quality, user satisfaction, and business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead product design strategy and execution while building and mentoring a high-performing design organization.

  • Hire, coach, and develop a team of product designers to deliver high-impact, user-centered solutions
  • Lead large-scale design initiatives spanning product vision, strategy, and end-to-end execution
  • Define and implement scalable design processes, standards, and workflows that balance speed and quality
  • Contribute to product strategy and roadmap planning in alignment with business goals
  • Leverage AI-powered tools for prototyping, exploration, and accelerating design delivery
  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data Science to ensure consistent user experiences
  • Own key UX deliverables such as user journeys, personas, usability frameworks, and measurement systems
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive design practices, and continuous UX improvement
  • Present design decisions and insights to senior stakeholders and executive leadership
Requirements:

This role requires a seasoned design leader with strong SaaS experience and the ability to balance hands-on design expertise with people management and strategic thinking.

  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS or enterprise product design environments
  • Proven experience leading and managing design teams (3–10+ designers or multi-team structures)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality product design work at scale
  • Hands-on experience with modern and AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Figma, Claude, Cursor, or similar)
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching and developing design talent
  • Ability to translate complex problems into clear, user-centered design solutions
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across distributed, cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in agile environments with iterative, data-informed design processes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence product direction
  • Passion for accessibility, usability, and inclusive design practices
