Position Overview

Earlham College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer in the Department of Athletics. This is a full-time, 10-month administrative faculty appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a full benefit package.

The position will involve working with the Head Athletic Trainer, providing sports medicine coverage for Earlham’s 15 intercollegiate teams. All duties are performed in compliance with the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide sports medicine coverage of practices and home contests.
  • Travel with designated intercollegiate sporting teams.
  • Document services provided in the atheletic training clinic for injury evaluations, treatments and rehabilitations. Earlham utilizes the Medicat system for campus medical documentation.
  • Provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
  • Maintain and abide by all policies and procedures set forth by Earlham College and NCAA Division 3 and other college metrics as requried
  • Assist with inventory and budget
  • Assist with the coordination of sports injury insurance claims
  • Assist in providing a safe playing environment for Earlham student-athletes.
  • Assist with the management of the Athletic Training facilities.
  • Perform administrative duties such as physicals, injury reports, and insurance claim forms.
  • Communicate with coaching staff concerning athlete injury status and return to play.
  • Serve on committees and perform administrative duties within the Athletic Department.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training
  • Program
  • Certified with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer by the State of Indiana or eligible to obtain a license within 90 days of hire.
  • CPR/AED certification.

Preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience with college athletic training. But recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
