Who We Are

Axis Therapy Centers is a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic offering ABA therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services to children and families across Iowa. Our clinicians are exceptional at what they do and this role makes sure insurance never gets in the way of a child accessing their care.

You wont just be processing paperwork. Youll be protecting access to life-changing therapy for kids who need it.

What Youll Own

Youll manage the full authorization lifecycle for ABA therapy services from initial requests through approvals, follow-ups, and appeals while serving as the primary point of contact between our clinical team and insurance payers.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Obtaining and verifying treatment authorizations for ABA therapy services with accuracy and urgency
• Submitting authorization requests on time and in compliance with each payers guidelines
• Monitoring authorization status and proactively following up to keep things moving
• Communicating directly with insurance providers to resolve issues, push back on denials, and get answers
• Maintaining accurate, compliant records of all requests, approvals, and denials
• Supporting the appeals process when authorizations are denied youre not done until every option is exhausted
• Collaborating closely with our clinical and RCM/Billing teams to keep authorization workflows running smoothly
• Identifying trends in authorizations and contributing ideas to improve the process

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Experience with insurance authorization processes or medical billing (strongly preferred)
• Strong communication skills youre confident on the phone with payers and clear in writing
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven nothing slips through the cracks on your watch
• Comfortable exercising independent judgment and making decisions without being micromanaged
• A calm, persistent approach when navigating complex payer situations
