As a Senior API / Microservices Developer, you will play a key role in modernizing enterprise applications that support critical public-sector initiatives. Working within a fully remote Agile team, you will design, build, and optimize scalable microservices and REST APIs using modern Java technologies. • Design, develop, and modernize enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, replacing legacy components with scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Build secure, high-performance REST APIs and integrate them with existing systems, databases, and external services while ensuring data consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government stakeholders, developers, analysts, and data engineers to define technical solutions and support modernization initiatives.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability while implementing best practices for architecture, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Develop comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor junior developers.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives while leveraging AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and software quality.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience developing enterprise Java applications with strong expertise in modern software engineering practices.
• Advanced proficiency with Java (version 21 or later), Spring Boot, Spring Data, REST API development, JPA/Hibernate, relational databases, Git/GitHub, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices, API-first architectures, performance optimization, and secure software solutions.
• Familiarity with tools such as Maven, Swagger/OpenAPI, API testing platforms, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating effectively within distributed remote teams.
• U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain an EPA Public Trust Level 4 clearance.

• Salary range of $112,840 – $132,250 USD annually, based on experience, location, and contractual requirements.
