Cake Decorator Associate in Urasoe, Okinawa at Coastal Pacific Food Distributors

A Cake Decorator creates and decorates cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other specialty bakery items to meet customer requests and store standards. This role combines creativity, attention to detail, and excellent customer service while maintaining food safety and sanitation practices in a fast-paced grocery bakery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes and other baked goods using buttercream, fondant, icing, edible decorations, and writing techniques.
• Prepare custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, holidays, and other special occasions according to customer specifications.
• Follow store recipes, decorating guidelines, and quality standards.
• Assist customers with cake orders, design recommendations, and product selection.
• Maintain attractive bakery displays and ensure products are fresh, properly labeled, and well stocked.
• Operate bakery equipment safely, including mixers, icing machines, and packaging equipment.
• Monitor inventory of decorating supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Assist with baking, packaging, labeling, and other bakery production tasks as needed.
• Work collaboratively with bakery team members to meet production schedules and customer demand.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and resolve customer concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous cake decorating or bakery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cake decorating techniques, including piping, borders, flowers, and lettering.
• Strong artistic ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders.
• Basic math skills for measuring and following recipes.

Physical Requirements
