IT Help Desk Intern (Full or Part-Time) in Novi, Michigan at The Signal Group LLC

Signal Group is seeking a motivated IT Help Desk Intern to join our Information Technology department. This position offers practical, hands-on experience in a professional IT environment. The intern will work alongside experienced staff and receive on-the-job training. It is an excellent opportunity for students and early-career professionals to begin a career in information technology. This is a paid opportunity with a competitive hourly wage commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.

The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis. A part-time intern who performs well may be considered for full-time employment after they complete their academic program.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve help desk tickets assigned by the IT System Administrator and Director of IT
• Help employees diagnose and resolve technical issues, and escalate complex issues to senior IT staff
• Keep assigned tickets up to date and resolve them on time
• Keep IT equipment and software updated to supported levels
• Help document IT processes and keep them in the central document repository
• Keep asset records accurate and up to date
• Report changes in procedures or the status of IT assets to the team
• Apply AI tools appropriately to IT issues and projects
• Support special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Applicants should meet at least one of the following:

• Currently enrolled in an IT, computer science, or related academic program
• Recent graduate of such a program
• Holds or is pursuing an industry certification, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Google IT Support

• A strong commitment to learning across all areas of technology
• Clear, professional communication and attentive listening
• Strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
• Ability to multitask and keep a positive attitude under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google applications, and Microsoft Edge
• Basic knowledge of Windows networking (preferred)
• Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) (preferred)

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, during standard business hours
• Full-time or part-time
• On-site at our Novi office

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Compensation

• Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.
