Position: Secondary History Teacher

Classification: Long-term Sub (January 19 – June 4, 2027)

Reports To: Secondary Principal

Position Summary:

Lenawee Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Secondary History Teacher who is excited to disciple students through engaging instruction and biblical integration. The ideal candidate will help students understand and interpret historical events through a Christian worldview, cultivating critical thinking and a love for truth.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach high school history courses, which may include U.S. History, World History, Government, or other related subjectsDevelop lesson plans that foster inquiry-based learning, promote student engagement, and integrate biblical principlesEncourage thoughtful discussion and critical analysis of historical events and their impact on today’s worldSupport the mission of the school through godly mentorship and participation in extra-curricular activities and student ministry groups

Qualifications:

Christian Faith:

Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.

Educational Background/Experience:

A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in education or a related field from an accredited college or universityCurrent State of Michigan teacher certification preferred; candidates eligible for certification or able to work toward State of Michigan and ACSI certification will also be consideredPassion for helping students grow spiritually, academically, and personally

Preferred Experience:

Experience teaching at the middle or high school levelTraining or experience in Christian educationAbility to integrate biblical truth into history
