DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Daily Operations

Open each shift by leading the daily safety and production meeting (“day start”): begin with a safety topic, review incidents or near-misses, confirm equipment inspections (forklifts, nail guns, scanners), communicate daily priorities, assign responsibilities by name, share client updates, and document meeting minutes same day. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational goals; foster a positive, collaborative work environment. Hold a dedicated weekly team check-in to review KPI performance, discuss improvements, and preview the coming week's priorities. Conduct documented monthly one-on-one coaching conversations with each team member covering performance, development goals, and concerns. Identify skill gaps and schedule cross-training; ensure every team member completes mandatory compliance and safety training on time. Address attendance issues, safety violations, and performance shortfalls promptly and consistently per the employee handbook; document all corrective conversations within 24 hours.
Warehouse Operations & Performance

Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of inbound freight and ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping of outbound freight. Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits; maintain inventory accuracy per client SLA. Organize and prioritize shipments based on delivery schedules, customer requirements, and special handling instructions. Own operational performance metrics including receiving accuracy, shipping/order accuracy, on-time shipment rate, inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock cycle time, and damage rate; track and report per client SLAs and leadership requirements. Ensure proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and freight securement to comply with regulatory and customer requirements. Enforce all safety protocols; follow up on daily material handling equipment (MHE) checks and review inspection logs monthly with warehouse ops; maintain 100% OSHA compliance with a zero-incident target. Maintain a clean, organized, client-tour-ready facility at all times.

Client Communication

•Serve as the client's primary operational point of contact on-site; deliver a written or verbal status update to each active client at least weekly covering inbound/outbound activity, inventory status, exceptions or damage reports, and upcoming workload. Escalate cargo discrepancies, damage, or delays to the client within 4 business hours of discovery – never let the client find out about a problem before we tell them. Participate in client KPI review meetings prepared with data on receiving accuracy, shipping accuracy, on-time rates, and inventory accuracy; respond to client inquiries the same business day.

Internal Leadership & Business Development Support

Submit a weekly operational report to your direct manager covering production volume, staffing, safety incidents, client concerns, equipment issues, and items requiring leadership attention. Escalate unresolved issues within 48 hours with supporting documentation and a recommendation when possible. Monitor overtime usage, supply consumption, and equipment maintenance costs; report monthly, flag variances, and manage workload distribution to reduce overtime. Attend cross-functional meetings (customs, freight, business development) and provide input on capacity, timing, and feasibility; respond to internal requests within 24 business hours. Acknowledge new business inquiries, RFQs, and capacity questions within 4 business hours; provide quoting support data (space, labor, equipment, handling considerations, constraints) within 24 business hours; escalate questions outside your authority within the same window; log and track all inquiries through disposition.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional client-facing communication. Forklift certification preferred. Ability to use Magya warehouse management software.
