This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

This role is part of New Glenn Avionics Hardware Solutions Team, supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows for the future.

Provides hands-on support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as Calibration, procurement and asset management.

As part of a hardworking team of technicians, you will read and assemble BOMs, manage test equipment and vendor returns, evaluate RMAs for submission, assist in calibration and lab organization efforts. You will share in the team’s impact on all production, evaluation, and development of light-grade Avionics Harnessing and electrical systems. Work in the Avionics Harness Lab requires a high level of proficiency in the technical aspects of the work such as measuring and layout, terminating a variety of electrical connections on mechanical assemblies and performing various assembly soldering operations. Once complete you will perform different verification tests to ensure we produce the highest quality product.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage assets for calibration and measurement with test equipment in a lab environment.
  • Manage multiple calibration work queues to ensure all items are submitted correctly through our ticket system.
  • Assess calibration documentation provided by 3rd party vendors for compliance and submit appropriately.
  • Maintain physical and digital organization of work to ensure efficiency in the calibration area in lab.
  • Maintain accuracy of calibrated item data and provide status to customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in Calibration
  • HS Diploma + calibration related technical training
  • Familiarity with the operation of measurement and test equipment.
  • Familiarity with windows suite and ability to maintain, organize & track technical information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military PMEL or Post-Secondary metrology training
  • Experience with industry calibration standards (ANSI NCSL Z540.3, ISO/IEC 17025)
  • Experience with industry quality and configuration control system methodologies (AS9100, ISO:9001)
  • Experience developing, operating and maintaining calibration systems & procedures
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience with Indysoft

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
