Job Description
The Water/Wastewater TAP provides onsite technical assistance and training to rural community infrastructure systems with water or waste disposal problems and needs in the areas of project planning, financing, utility management and administration. Communities Unlimited is one of six regional non-profit organizations that are partners in the national Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) through which these services are available in all U.S.A. and territories.
Work Location: An ideal candidate will work from home; however, candidate must currently reside in the Woodward, OK area.

Water/Wastewater TAP Requirements:
- Education Option A: Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, management, public administration or related field preferred and 1 year experience. Option B: Current Water or Wastewater Operator Certification and a minimum of 5 years of experience in operating and/or managing community environmental management systems.
Water/Wastewater TAP Duties:
- Provide onsite technical assistance to 15–20 rural communities and small water/wastewater systems, helping address public water supply and wastewater challenges.Develop, prepare, and submit timely, accurate reports, project documentation, and technical analyses (e.g., feasibility studies, rate analyses) to support informed community decision-making.Build and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal stakeholders while facilitating meetings, trainings, and community engagement efforts.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, grant/contract requirements, and reporting standards, including accurate tracking of time, expenses, and project records.Support program operations by managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, contributing to communications/branding efforts, and participating in meetings, events, and special projects.
