About the Role

The incumbent will be responsible to manage the timely production of high quality assigned titles (Urdu, Islamiyat, and other regional languages) in accordance with set budgets in the assigned list; handle projects from the commissioning stage to sending off the printed books to authors; quality check of manuscripts; coordinate with authors and designers, all in cooperation with and in support of the line manager.

The incumbent will have to edit/proofread and help to level manuscript and digital content of an allocated number of titles. Help attract the best authors, demonstrate effective author communications; liaise with authors and others to determine progress and encourage timely submission of high-quality work. Ensure that corrections are marked up/logged against the latest version of specified print and digital resources; Maintain accurate product database, ensuring New Book/Product Announcements, and title and product information for online marketing/selling teams.

About You

The candidate should have:

• A strong academics and Master’s degree, preferably in Urdu, Islamiyat, etc.
• At least 3 years’ school teaching experience in relevant subjects.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum of Pakistan, and CAIE curriculum.
• Prior publishing experience, particularly in proofreading, editing; experience in project planning and management will be an added advantage.
• Experience in an editorial role in publishing, preferably academic editing will be an added advantage
