Licensed Practical Nurse

  • Position Summary
    • Provides basic nursing care which includes performing routine office procedures, administration of medications, testing and participating in patient education. Performs clinical duties in keeping with established policies and procedures, which includes routine office procedures and testing, administration of medications, and assisting physician. Keep an accurate and concise record of patient observations, treatments and procedures administered; documents findings in the medical record. Assists in the assessment of patient’s response to treatment relative to identifying common and recurring nursing needs of the patient. Recognizes and anticipates urgent or emergent patient situations and responds appropriately. Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
  • Education
    • College Diploma in Nursing - Required
  • Experience
    • 1 Year Office practice setting - Preferred
  • License & Certification
    • Professional License with State of Practice - Required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Required within 90 days of hire
  • Core Job Functions
    • Follow policies and procedures for routine office procedures, test, administration of medications and assisting providers up to and including IV therapy. Recognizes and anticipates urgent and emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.
    • Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
    • Documents History, Physical Assessment and Nursing interventions and changes and updates in patient status.
    • Calls are processed in a timely manner. Determines the customers needs utilizing nursing assessment. Symptom information is obtained and documents information thoroughly, accurately.
    • Complies with regulatory guidelines for work area and professional practice standards. Assists with data collection, trouble shooting, and educating staff of performance improvement indicators. Utilizes available safety equipment and processes for patient care.
