Centers For Family Development, Inc. (CFDI) is a private, non-profit comprehensive family counseling agency that was originally established in 1978 as Black Family Development, Inc. (BFDI) by the Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers (DNABSW). By establishing BFDI as a family counseling agency, DABSW sought to promote and provide quality community-aligned social work services in Detroit. Since that time, BFDI has grown to accommodate the increasing demand for a variety of specialized family-focused counseling and services in the community.

CFDI’s programming includes early childhood resources and literacy development, a 3-tiered juvenile justice service array, mental health prevention and treatment, substance use disorder prevention and treatment, R.E.A.L Brothers supportive resources, school-based intervention, and trauma-informed care.

Our organization is seeking a Full-time Deputy Director/Senior Manager Information Technology with the corresponding experience requirements:

Requirements:

The Deputy Director/Senior Manager of Information Technology serves as the primary operational and strategic partner to the Director of IT, providing day-to-day leadership, project management, and hands-on administration of the organization’s technology infrastructure.

The Deputy Director/Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing IT operations, implementing modernized systems, maintaining cybersecurity posture, developing cyber security policies and managing technology-related projects across the organization. The Deputy Director/Senior Manager ensures that IT solutions support business needs, improve efficiency, and align with future strategic goals.

The Deputy Director/Senior Manager will be responsible for leveraging Power BI to transform raw data from the Accounting, Human Resources, Clinical Programs, Quality Assurance, Communications, and Information Technology departments into meaningful insights through dynamic dashboards, reports, and data models. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and enhance overall organizational performance.

In addition, the Deputy Director/Senior Manager will lead efforts to introduce these departments to new technologies and streamlined processes, ensuring that each team is equipped with tools and workflows that improve efficiency, transparency, and strategic planning.

The Deputy Director/Senior Manager will take lead responsibility for implementing the technical requirements for the Athena EMR system. This includes collaborating with Program Supervisors, Therapists, medical staff, the Chief Operating Officer, Athena’s functional and technical teams, and other external stakeholders to develop a comprehensive implementation plan. The Deputy Director/Senior Manager will ensure that clinical workflows, operational requirements, system configuration needs, and change-management strategies are fully aligned to support a successful deployment, strong user adoption, and the long-term optimization of the Athena EMR system.

Requirements

3–5+ years progressive IT experience, including Microsoft 365 and networking.

Demonstrated project management experience.

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.

Relevant industry certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).

All candidates must demonstrate strong computer literacy, strong documentation and oral communication, ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
