General Manager – Houston Market
Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried
Reports To: Regional Manager
Position Overview
Nationwide Trailers is hiring a General Manager to support continued growth across the Houston market. This role is designed for an experienced operator who can lead a high-volume dealership-style retail operation while contributing to regional expansion.
The selected candidate may initially operate within an established Houston-area location to learn company systems and performance standards before supporting future growth initiatives. Flexibility within the Houston market is required, and the ability to relocate to other markets as the company expands is a plus.
The General Manager owns overall store performance across trailer sales, parts operations, service operations, inventory management, customer experience, and financial results.
Store Leadership and Execution
- Own store-level revenue, gross profit, and controllable expense performance
- Translate regional goals into disciplined daily execution
- Lead consistent operating rhythms including huddles and performance reviews
- Maintain visible leadership presence across sales and service operations
- Build a culture of urgency, professionalism, and accountability
Sales, Parts, and Service Oversight
- Drive coordinated execution across sales, parts, and service departments
- Hold department leaders accountable to KPIs and performance expectations
- Monitor lead conversion, service throughput, and parts inventory discipline
- Ensure strong interdepartmental communication and revenue capture
- Remove operational bottlenecks to support sustained growth
Financial and Inventory Accountability
- Maintain strong command of the store P&L and performance metrics
- Monitor revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, and controllable expenses
- Ensure accurate inventory management and financial controls
- Partner with regional leadership on forecasting and performance improvement
Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, develop, and retain strong leaders and team members
- Provide coaching and structured performance management
- Build leadership depth to support continued Houston market growth
Market Growth Support
- Support Houston market expansion initiatives
- Assist with store launches, transitions, or operational improvements
- Maintain flexibility across Houston-area locations based on business needs
Qualifications
- Five or more years of multi-department leadership experience in dealership, automotive, RV, equipment, or related retail operations
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and operational discipline
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L statements
- Experience developing accountable, performance-driven teams
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
