About This Position
G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
We are seeking an Operations Manager, reporting to the Manufacturing Director, to lead salary and hourly associates in operating units. This position is a member of the Leadership team and plays a key role in setting the strategic direction of the plant to meet business objectives. The incumbent is accountable for the delivery of their department's top five manufacturing objectives in the areas of safety/PSM (process safety management), environmental compliance, quality, cost, and production. This position will interact with a variety of functional teams at the Chemical divisional-level to develop, establish and meet production goals
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure efficient and reliable plant operations, industry best practices, process and optimization improvements and new product implementation.
- Accountable for working with peers in coordinating the implementation of the operations excellence management system and standards across the plant.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS/PSM.
- Lead the safety culture of the facility for the Ops team.
- Support the OSHA VPP & ISO 14001.
- Lead and manage the Operations teams to achieve business goals through development of team & ensuring succession planning
- Develop production plans in accordance with S&OP process and align with maintenance planning to ensure Mechanical Integrity of unit
- Manage fixed costs to meet AOP
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
- 10+ years of experience to include managing salary and hourly employees, financial responsibilities, production planning, and problem solving in a chemical plant environment
Preferred
- MBA
- Ability to lead and manage multi-functional, diverse teams.
- Communication skills, project management, continuous improvement methods, long range planning and integration with short term actions, ability to relate with customers, ability to determine important versus urgent, cost analysis, process thinking skills.
