Position Summary

Zachry Construction is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Coordinator for an entry-level opportunity in heavy equipment maintenance. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a long-term career in equipment management and operations. The Equipment Maintenance Coordinator supports equipment operations by maintaining accurate records, scheduling maintenance, and assisting with purchasing, logistics, and reporting. This role provides a pathway to advancement into Equipment Foreman, Equipment Superintendent, or Equipment Manager positions.

What You'll Do

  • Participate actively in the job site safety program by following all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain accurate job site equipment records, including backlogs, warranty information, hour meter readings, inspections, and fuel usage reports.
  • Schedule lubrication, servicing, and oil sampling; review oil analysis reports and escalate potential issues to the Equipment Superintendent.
  • Coordinate parts purchasing and inventory, ensuring accurate cost coding and timely returns of unused items for credit.
  • Track and report all equipment arrivals, departures, and on/off rent events; assist in scheduling equipment transportation.
  • Verify timecards for accurate cost coding and adjust as necessary.
  • Compare actual repair times against standard time guides and assist with developing repair estimates.
  • Create and maintain reports on equipment utilization, maintenance assignments, and repair performance.
  • Support the Daily Visual Inspection Program by performing and tracking inspections.
  • Become familiar with repair procedures and troubleshooting techniques through hands-on exposure to ongoing maintenance work.
  • Gain experience using the Equipment Management Module in SAP to prepare for future responsibilities within the equipment operations team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in equipment purchasing or related field.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience tracking costs, inputting data, and generating reports (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and professional approach to working with all levels of employees, management, and suppliers.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Willingness to relocate for project or career advancement opportunities.
