About This Position
Southern Marine Supply is a premier wholesale and retail supplier of marine AC, water purification systems, and ancillary components.
Position Overview: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales efforts across Southern Marine Supply. This role involves generating leads, building strong relationships with customers, and promoting the products and services of each division. The ideal candidate will be a proactive sales professional with a deep understanding of the marine industry and experience managing a diverse product portfolio.
Requirements:- Lead Generation: Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound calls, emails, and industry networking for Southern Marine Supply.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and aligning solutions across the company.
- Sales Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets by promoting products and services, including marine air conditioning, refrigeration, water purification systems, and other related products.
- Promote and Sell: Southern Marine Supply’s full product offerings including marine HVAC components, refrigeration parts, accessories, and general marine supply products.
- Cross-Promotion: Promote and cross-sell complementary products to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a high level of knowledge about the product lines of each company to effectively communicate features, benefits, and competitive advantages to clients.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and product development.
- Sales Reporting: Track all sales activities, opportunities, and leads in CRM software, providing regular updates to management on sales performance.
- Travel: Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer visits as needed to promote company offerings and build relationships.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including operations, customer service, and marketing to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of the marine industry, particularly marine air conditioning and water purification systems.
- Proficient with CRM systems and familiar with market trends in yachting and marine sectors.
- Proven expertise in outbound sales, lead generation, negotiation, and communication.
- Skilled in analyzing market data and sales metrics.
- Strong customer relationship management and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to multitask and manage multiple accounts.
- Adaptable to changing market conditions and product offerings.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling marine products such as AC units, refrigeration systems, and water filtration technologies.
- Strong understanding of the yachting and marine services industry.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent years of experience.
