Rehabilitation Technician at CaroMont Health – Gastonia, North Carolina

Job Summary: Assist selected physical/occupational therapy patients in performing routine exercise and gait training activities. Perform other selected routines, services or activities as assigned. Performs work under the supervision of licensed therapists or assistants. Provides complete access management to the patient population that utilizes the services of CaroMont Outpatient and Medical Rehab departments, including font office support, responsibility for positive patient identification, and providing excellent customer service to the population served. This also encompasses registration, pre-registration, verification, authorization, referral management, compliance, schedule coordination, coding and billing. Performs other selected services or activities as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer some education in the medical field. Minimum of 6 months in a patient care or closely related position. Knowledge of routine rehabilitation exercises and gait training procedures. Ability to interact and deal tactfully with patients and co-workers. Judgment is required in working with patients and performing treatments. Demonstrates strong customer service skills. Considerable knowledge of insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, collections, and other business, office-related duties. Special Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and decision-making skills, ability to multitask, and demonstrate competency with basic computer usage.
