Located on the northeastern tip of Ellesmere Island, CFS Alert offers a truly unique and challenging work environment surrounded by Arctic landscapes.
Reporting to the Contract Site Manager, the Power Plant Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of both the primary and standby diesel power plants.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise certified Power Plant Technicians and Bulk Fuel Technicians
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and reporting requirements
- Maintain continuous and uninterrupted power generation for station operations
- Demonstrated experience operating power generation plants of 1500 kW or greater
- Proven ability to plan, schedule, direct, and report on power plant operations and maintenance
- Supervisory experience in operational and maintenance environments
- Strong technical knowledge of diesel power plant systems and equipment
- Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, with appropriate certification and experience operating a diesel power plant (≥1500 kW)
OR - Industrial Electrician, journeyperson certified, with experience operating diesel generator power plants (≥1500 kW)
OR - Electrical Generating Systems Technician, with a minimum supervisory qualification and relevant experience
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Project
- High level of professionalism and commitment to safety
- $27 per day isolation allowance for every day worked on site
- Fly-in / Fly-out rotation: 8 weeks on site / 8 weeks off site
- 48-hour work weeks, Salaried compensation package
