Description:

Contracting & Population Health Strategy

  • Develop and implement contracting strategy to include clear ownership and governance; centralized contract infrastructure and ongoing payer portfolio review.
  • Partner with the credentialing and finance departments to develop a standard review and reporting cadence to review effective payment versus contracted rates; net payment per visit; net vaccination margin; denial rates by category; days in A/R.
  • Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with representatives from value-based contracted payors to support collaborative population health initiatives and performance improvement.
  • Monitor emerging trends and changes in value-based reimbursement models and assess their potential impact on the organization.
  • Advise senior leadership on strategic opportunities and operational implications related to value-based care programs, performance metrics, and contracting arrangements.
  • Establish and oversee a centralized contract management process for tracking key components, financial performance and compliance across the PediaTrust payer portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain a negotiation/renewal and management strategy for payer contracts both FFS/non value based and value based agreements.

Process Improvement & Strategic Execution

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation, accountability, and data-driven decision making across clinical and operational teams.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality outcomes, and strengthen patient and clinician experience.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to align improvement initiatives with organizational priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Identify a clinical strategy roadmap that aligns with mission, vision, and organizational priorities
  • Operationalize a clinical leader meeting cadence or grand rounds to share pertinent clinical updates and workflow changes.

Operational Excellence and Process Improvement

  1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of a development program to cultivate leadership competencies, management skills, and strategic thinking.
  2. Establish and support a physician management structure that promotes physician and administrative engagement in strategic decision-making, operational oversight, and quality improvement.
  3. Partner with the CEO and COO to facilitate leadership meetings and committees that strengthen clinical alignment with operations and organizational goals.
  4. Develop and operationalize a dyad leadership model, partnering physician leaders with administrative and operations leaders to drive collaborative decision-making, accountability, and operational excellence across service lines and practice sites.
  5. Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership training to physician and operations’ leaders to strengthen competencies in communication, team leadership, operational management, financial stewardship, and quality improvement.
  6. Serve as a champion for quality and safety by modeling and reinforcing a culture of accountability, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement that optimizes medical care, patient experience, and organizational outcomes.
  7. In partnership with the CEO and COO, identify high-potential physicians and implement succession planning strategies to develop a pipeline of future physician leaders within the organization at the enterprise - level as well as at the local level (strategic business unit).
  8. Collaborate with the COO to refine and execute the organization’s strategic plan, translating strategic priorities into operational initiatives through leadership alignment, process development, and streamlined workflows.
  9. Operationalize standardization of employed clinician contracts, as well as implement audit and accountability mechanisms.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven track record of managing staff to their best potential, both in-person and remotely
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Preferable background in healthcare or design

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Experience in managing complex, strategic projects
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in strategy, planning, and/or business operations
